Memories Make the Best Family Heirlooms

Meet my paternal grandma, Rosemary Kooken White, pictured here as a toddler in the late 1920s.

Rosemary had a Valentine’s birthday. She was the youngest of four, the little sister of two brothers and a sister. Her mother passed away when she was very young and her brothers stayed with their father. So Rosemary and her older sister were sent to live with their Aunt. Aunt Mable also raised my father.

I have wonderful memories of grandma Rosemary. My sister and I spent a lot of time at her home, enjoying sleepovers, trips to Kmart and Pic-n-Save for treats and time with her many pets (including lots of stray cats she fed). She passed away more than twenty years ago when she was in her 60s. I’m so thankful to have memories of her to enjoy! ~shared by @pilatesfit
