A Father and Son Photograph Worth Saving for Future Generations
This is my dad Chuck with my grandfather Elwyn.
I believe this photo to be from roughly 1954 or so, as my dad is about 2 years old here.
What’s so special about it to me is that it’s one of the few photos we have in our collection of my dad and my grandfather together before my grandfather lost the use of his legs to polio in 1956.
The smile on his face seems so warm and full of life, a quality that he was able to maintain even after being confined to a wheelchair until his death from Alzheimers in 1989.
