A Vintage Family Photo That Honors a Tomboy Who Wore Heels
My grandmother wore heels all of the time.
By contrast, she was also a bit of a tomboy.
She used to climb trees on the farm where she grew up. She would pick cherries and feed them to her pet pigeon Bobby. One day, some hunters came along and shot him. She recalled that sad memory for me a few years ago.
She also told me that she grew up with every kind of fruit tree imaginable on their farm in Malaga, Ohio. Baking pies to share with workers and family that would stop by was customary. ~shared by @rebecca_kiger
