Today’s the day!
Gather your magical old family photos and share them with the hashtag and you might win an archival print on metal. (Details below.) This is a photo of Mona, my grandma, taken somewhere around 1952 when she was 19 or 20 years old.

As it turns out, she hated this photo and never showed it to anyone. A number of years ago, my mom happened upon the photo while looking through some old things at my grandma’s house.

It was in terrible shape from decades of messy storage, but my mom worked hard to restore it.

Needless to say, my grandma doesn’t mind this photo nearly as much nowadays. What a classic beauty! ~shared by @ponderbird
